The '23 has alot more luster than is showing, but damn NGC slabs are just not forgiving when you are trying to show luster.

I'll guess AU50 for the '23 and AU55 for the '33. Nice coins. I like them both.

I think both of these would be PCGS AU50. I much prefer the 1823. It is just right.image

Looks like no body is going to attribute so I'll give them a shot.

I think your 1823 is O.103. One of the marriages with a perfect 3 in the date. Many of the 1823's have problems with the 3, not yours though. I can't rightly tell from the photo but you may or may not be able to see some fine verticle lines between the left wing and head of the eagle. The text says that this shows up on the higher graded coins. They may be talking about mint state stuff though. I'd be interested to know if you can see them in hand or with a loupe.

The 1833 is giving me some problems. Perhaps someone else can take a stab at and see what they come up with. I'm thinking it may be an O.114 but at this point I wouldn't put any money on that bet. Anyone?
  • Just a wild stab in the dark: I think this may be a O.103. There looks to be a tripled forecurl in front of the L in LIBERTY and the left upper corner of the shield has a gap that has a triangular shape. Just below this in the lines are what appear to be centering dots.

There's not as much luster on the reverse as the obverse but I can see some very faint lines between the head and leaft wing. I really need to buy an Overton variety book...
