It is in an ANACS slab (good)
The seller has good feedback (good)
It seems to be priced a bit high (bad)
There were some fake slabs coming out of Asia about a year ago (bad)

That one has been out there for at least 5 months. Personally, I like the look of it - nice surfaces. The price seems a bit high by 15% or so. Maybe he/she would take a good offer (of course I really dont know the official eBay rules on that).

The location is interesting - "Tokyo/HongKong/Beijing/NYC United States".

The coin looks good, it is slabbed and there haven't been fake ANACS slabs reported yet, his english is good, he explains why he is in China, if shipping rates are reasonable , and he seems to be ignorant as to why he can't ship from China to Taiwan.

He seems to be a New York dealer who specializes in world coins. He says he is in the orient for a trade show and there are some very large international shows in Hong Kong and Japan. I don't know if they are going on right now or not. I think there is a good chance he is legit, but I would probably want to ask him some questions and preferably send payments to a US address. If he is based here and just there for a show that should not be too much of a problem.

If I were the seller I would have waited until I got back to the US to sell this coin.

Just the word "China" in the address will cause suspicion that the coin is a Chinese counterfeit.

I dont think it is a fake. He also has a 1739 8 reales coins slabbed by ANACS with a net grade due to corrosion. Why fake a problem coin?

If anything, his store name is the bigger oddity......NYC11385's Coins and Video Store. Only in NYC I suppose.

Hi, I just received 2 France trade dollars from this seller. 1 is AU that he called BU but I got it for XF money, The other is a beautiful Bu. Both coins are real. Coins were mailed from Beijing registered in nice protective packaging. Took about 3 weeks. I would buy from him again...............Rick
