That's why i was asking. it looks to me like there might be some nice colors there, but just not showing on the straight on shot.

I like it. Looks nice and original to me.
  • I can't find a mark on this coin. Maybe a very small rim hit, but that's about it...

I like it for its originality, but as far as eye-appeal goes shes not really easy on the eyes. But as suggested I think the colors are better in hand.

It has character and it's a UNITED STATES silver dollar... and I don't have that date in my possession, and it could have been touched by someone famous, and if you like it , nobody else's opinion matters.

Um, now with that said, to be honest with you.............

NOPE, it ain't ugly, but it sure is plain and there were another 13 million or so that year, so if you are looking for a pageant winner, keep looking image

A perfect example of original isn't always best. Dip that coin.

If I were buying it, I would call it ugly. If I were selling it, I would call it original. Since I am doing neither, I would say much more original than ugly.

It probably looks better if you did the dipping well. The old toning was kind of crappy.

I was here yesterday image... I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE SHOUTED image hey dude, it's got CHARACTER and character means it has LIFE ....it might not win a beauty pageant, but look around.... most ugly girls have husbands. And it doesn't have anything to do with stripping the make-up off, it has to do with "putting it on"

Oh well. I wasn't in love with it before. It's not all that exciting now. If this were an old bust half or something I might scream, but if you are going to play with doing this sort of thing to coins, you may as well do it to common date Morgans. I agree it looks like a very clean coin, a 64 at least, and insofar as that's probably the best thing the coin has going for it the dip probably didn't hurt.

The coin looks much better now. In its original state it would have sat in a dealers display case forever. At least its saleable now.
