Will MS70 cleaner remove "mint wash" webbing from copper lincolns?

Just curious to know if anybody has used this to remove the mint washwebbing from later copper lincoln wheat pennies? I have a bunch of these that if not for the webbing would be 65-66 reds..........HELP!

    No, nothing will remove it other than a chisel.

  • I have not tried MS70 on copper, but it removes "mint wash" from clad coins very well.

  • Interesting that it works on clads. Maybe someone will chime in on using it on copper.

  • Try GOO GONE

    1- wash hands in warm soapy water - make fingers crinkly clean
    2- emerse coin in warm water
    3- spray liberal amounts of GOO GONE on coin as you hold it between thumb and index finger
    4- rub gently - keep coin lubed with the GOO
    5- rinse coin in water
    6- place coin on paper towel or use a can of air to blow dry water off
    7- use hair dryer to dry completely
    8- place on soft velvet or back in a holder of your choice.

    GOO GONE is safe to use on anything- is non toxic and non acidic.

    Nope. I've tried. That's what makes the 50's P's so hard to find in high grade.
