Best day of the week to list coins on eBay?

Has anyone noticed a patern suggesting that some listing days (or end of auction days) are better than others from a seller's stand point? I know Sat and Sun are bad...

  • Wrong! Sunday evening is by far the best ending time

In my experience Sunday evening is actually the best time, and Saturday is not far behind.

I've had great luck Sat & Sun afternoon... (Peace Dollars).
    After payday Friday ??
Worst luck for me would be very late weeknights, short auctions.

Bottom line is great Pics, variety of payment options, good customer service.

  • As a seller, I exclusively list to end between 9PM-12Midnight EST (catches the West Coast crowd). As a buyer, I like weekend daytimes the best, followed closely by Monday and Wednesday night.

You should list them so they end Wednesday at 1:00 AM

Actually, you should list them to end when the right two bidders come along. The problem is figuring out when that is.

Thanks guys. This is fascinating, as it is well known that Sat and Sun are the lowest day of the week in terms of internet use.

It's actually correct, but only because the internet is used heavily during the week by employees at work. Thus, the fact isn't relevant to what is the best day to close auctions.

I always end coin auctions on Sunday evenings around 9:30 PM EDT unless it's a holiday weekend.

The BB cards I've been selling....I list a batch while a batch ends every Weds nite and they do fantastic. I do this simply to coincide with MY days off at work so the bulk of my work/mailing on the cards can be done on Thurs/Fri/Sat.

You know that? How? Sun, then Sat are the best. It has been said here many times, and I have found it to be true with my sales, as well as my buying.

Guys - thanks for correcting my misconception. It is a fact that the internet is used more during the week than on the w-e, and in mid week more than on Mon andd Fri. I've been working in the industry for more than 7 yrs now, and there's a clear scalloped pattern. This was true when I worked at Amazon.com, and I assumed that it would naturally apply to eBay but apparently I was wrong.

I've started listing items on Thursdays and running ten day auctions (costs something like ten cents extra?) to end Sunday evenings. My auctions have been getting more hits, more bids, and higher realized prices. I think it has something to do with exposure time over the course of two weekends.

We had this discussion last year and most agrreed that this is a good concept.
Remember that even though a lost of people use the internet during the week. More people are off work and do most of there shopping on the weekends.
