Based on reputation alone, GEM is one of the last grading companies I would trust to accurately identify and authenticate a rare or hard to find proof.
  • Does PSA or BGS grade them? I also heard all proofs are blank backed. True? This has the normal back on it.

    1989FleerBillRipkencollector...

It's hard to tell from the scan, but they may be calling it a proof because one or more of the color steps is missing. Sometimes a card company producing the card may do this to check certain colors without have the distraction of looking at other colors. But most preproduction proofs are usually blank, so this may have just been a case of the color running out and some sheets got by.

  • Thank You I thought so too. Another collector said he has seen many of these Bill Ripkens missing color. If anyone has one I would be intereted in obtaining it or getting a scan. Thanks
