Home U.S. Coin Forum

I do sincerely apologize...

1. I did specifically ask that a poll be started regarding whether I should continue posting about my work. I did not intend on starting a brawl. I apologize to Doug for putting him on the spot.

2. It was never my intent to try swaying or talking anyone into sending me money for anything. Since being talked into starting this series, I have gained nearly three-fourths of my customers on my work from this forum - perhaps that is wrong in itself, but I didn't twist anyone's arm or trick anyone into anything. I felt this forum was the best place to alert them of new releases. That was wrong too, and for that I apologize.

3. I deleted the posts in the original thread about the subject that started all the problems in the first place. I did not do it as a method of deception, I did it because of the complaints and the fact that I at least somewhat agree that I had stepped out of line and needed to correct my wrong. I cannot win for losing, however, because I see that at least one person complained BECAUSE I removed the posts that so many others complained about.

4. After my incorrect use of the board and the melee that ensued, I believe it be best that I take a break and let the problem subside. I am not whining, I am not taking my ball to another playground, I am simply stating that I have many other things to get done, and wasting my day on posts like this very one is something I simply do not have the luxury of doing. I, unlike many others here, am not a dealer NOR do I have a different job from which I derive my grocery money. What I do in numismatics is all I have for income, and it is quite meager even when I work 12 hours every day to accomplish what I do accomplish. Spending the extra hours to defend/fight/answer for my actions here is costing me money I cannot afford to lose.

5. Yesterday was a bad day for me all around. I had a number of problems come up that caused the day to be one I'd rather forget. I did say things I did not mean to say and regret at this point...but to clarify...I did not delete any posts as a result. The posts I deleted were simply to undo my incorrect action to the best of my ability. I do apologize to those who brought it out for my rash responses regarding their correct assessment of my thread....including Russ, whose method I at least somewhat disagree with, but nevertheless must acknowledge was correct.

6. I will not be signing in for a while. Mainly because I have a lot of work to get done, but also because of the problems I have caused here in the last 24 hours, and that being quiet is the best thing to do to repair problems caused by one's mouth. Only to those who care to stay in contact with me, you can visit any one of my sites or email me directly. Please do not send a PM, I do not like the idea that people might be attempting to contact me with no response because I'm not signed on to see the PMs. Please...just email me.

7. A final note...to those who have contacted me about my work. I am continuing the work, I will continue producing prints, and updates on what I am doing are available via email or through the site. I am reworking it today to make my dependency on this forum for notification purposes a thing of the past. The very last thing I want is to make anyone here think I am simply using this forum as a means of making money. Numismatics is all I do, so everything I do in numismatics has at least SOME relation to my drawing an income from it. Everyone has to make money to pay the bills, and I work my fingers to the bone for every last cent of it.

Again, I apologize for causing a mess, and it was me who caused it, albeit unintentionally. I had to think long and hard about whether this post was the right thing to do, and I am sure that to some it wasn't. Any time you gather a group as large as this one you're bound to run into a certain number of people who will disagree on anything. Peace out.

Hey C.D.- sometimes we all have to air out some crap. There are a lot of strong personalities on this board (as well as some little wormy slimy types ((Russ and stman are surely not included there---they are both GREAT board members who contribute more than I ever could)) ).
I hope you continue to add your knowledge here, as well as your strong (and sometimes highly testoterone charged) opinions also.
You are, in my opinion, one of the best contributors to these boards.

It never even occurred to me that anyone could be upset about your actions until I saw the poll.

Certainly I can understand the complaint and applaud you for not doing it in the future.

I'm sure we all wish you the best of luck and look forward to more of all your work and efforts.

    C.D.,

I hope you get all the things you need to get done and when you have some extra time, post here on the board. You're a great source of knowledge.

  • Chuck, I hope you decide to stick around. I really hope you you'll do a drawing of Ben Franklin. He did design a coin back in the day so I'm wondering if you have considered him?

I could have handled it far better. And, just so you know, there has never been any doubt in my mind as to the quality of your contribution to the hobby. Brilliance is the word I would use to describe it.

    coppercoins,

I really enjoy seeing your work here and hope you continue to share it. Sometimes when immersed into a situation a person can be lead to believe that they have a diplomatic immunity of sorts due to a majority opinion which allows them to bend the rules, this is a easy mistake to make and fortunately an easy one to fix in this situation. Maybe starting up a mailing list for individuals who are interested in your work would be a good idea, so that you can effectively communicate with them whether or not you or them are participating on the board at that time.

    Cheers,

You were about the 2nd or 3rd post I ever read on this board and have always thought extremely highly of you, your drawings and opinions.

Another qualified interesting member leaving the boards. Better think about the hobby and how this forum can make a positive impact. I'd say we lost some ground here. image

It's all good by me. I only read every fifth thread , so the drama goes over my head.
  • Well, I missed the "poll" thread, but I wouldn't worry about it. Stay on, it could be worse... any day now I'm going to flame someone in the OF for no reason at all... image

You need a tough skin to live here...

PS Keep posting your prints, they're "coin related".
