Carbon spots

I have a few coins that have some small, black carbon-like spots on the surface (both silver and copper coins). Is there any help to remove these? I was wondering about sending them to NCS, but how is NCS at removing carbon spots?

NCS can help, but the damage is typically done at this point. I also hate carbon spots, but at least they're better than fingerprints.
