Tell me about this Hard Times token

First of all is it genuine? I can't find an image of one that looks just like it. It's a friend's coin and any insight at all would be appreciated.

    Yep, it's genuine. Looks like an L-39.

    I don't know much about Hard Times token, but I wouldn't hesitate buying that one if I saw it at a flee market or a yard sale.
