Kirby was one of the best hitters baseball has ever seen and his career was cut short due to complications of glaucoma. He was distraught at having to retire in the height of his playing career. In his 12 years he accomplished enough to garner a first ballot induction into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame.. He suffered a stroke yesterday. at the age of 45 and was unable to recover from it and the surgery which followed the episode. Kirby Puckett, 45 years old, died tonight March 7th due to these complications.
He will be missed and in his honor the proceeds of this auction will be donated to help further the cause which he succumbed to.
