Are Wholesales Prices Rising or Just Retail

fcloudfcloud Posts: 12,133 ✭✭✭✭
I was just looking at my coin list on another website, and I have not seen the wholesale prices rise for as long as I can remember. I do, however, see the prices continue to rise in the catalogs and on the PCGS price guide. Is it always that way? Do dealer margins increase with a hot market and the base prices remain the same, or is there some upside potential if a collector were to sell their coins?

Real wholesale prices? Oh yes....they are. Published wholesale prices dont seem to matter much anymore...

On the whole, wholesale and sight-unseen prices have increased in the last few years.

I agree with CL... Nice coins with eye appeal are brining over published wholesale everywhere... it's the average coin that stays close to sheet prices.

But the problem is that there are so few coins available that are now classified as "nice" as far as the market is concerned.
