Newp. Anything to this?

I bought this yesterday because it was from John Quincy Adams family's estate sale 1974. Does the promenance mean anything in this case. Also, what did I actually buy? I do not have the 18th century book, so any help on grade and value would be great. Thanks! -Dan

Others will have to give you the full attribution, but the pic on left is upside-down.

  • I like coins which have a big provenance........

For example my Ex Eliasberg Cuba Peso was the only Cuban Peso in the Eliasberg collection, not only that but the coin dates back to the Frederic Geiss collection.

    I lke that. image

I gotta ask and if you don't tell I understand. What did you pay for this coin? I would love to have something like this (it fits in my sphere of collecting) that was once handled by someone famous like JQA. What kind of premium is associated with a famous person like this? Is there any kind of rule of thumb to go by? Thanks for your time and congrats on your purchase. I wish it was in collection...
