What do all think of eBay's new auction template?

HTubbsHTubbs Posts: 4,138 ✭✭✭
I just noticed it,and it's probabaly why eBay has been so slow lately. It might take a little while to get used to,but it's cool looking in my opinion. What do you all think?

It's not that much different than the previous templates. Looks a little more clean but it's basically the same. I haven't noticed a slowdown at all.

The slow down thing I've noticed the last couple of days...............

and after seeing the new template I now know why the slow down.

Like it/don't like, after a week or so all will be fine, anytime a I see new on a web page. I don't like.

Looks OK, but I didn't mind the old one. It doesn't really add any useful information, does it? I guess the guys in eBay web programming need to keep busy.
  • When I looked earlier, it seems that the "watch this auction" was MIA?
  • Sometimes when I refresh a listing, it changes between the old and new templates.

    Strange.

I like the "meet the seller section",puts more focus on the feedback and reputation of the seller.

It's fine, except that when I hit the back button on my browser, it doesn't go to the listing page where all the coins are, just the previous coin I looked at. Anyone else have that problem?

Same here. In fact, I didn't even realize it's a new template. I thought it was screwed up html or a corrupted data transmission.

It's still there, it has moved to the item details section where the start time, end time, current bid, etc. is located.
  • Way too much information- I want to see the auction- if I want to know about the seller- then I read his bio info and his sales record- aka- feedback- which at times is BS if you read some of the stuff.

I think the new one is garbage- my opinion.
  • Where did the watch item button go?

    edit

nevermind...found it under the high bidder

Same here. I just thought the formatting was screwed up. Sometimes some strange text like source code appears above the top part where the first part of the page is supposed to be. Sometimes I get a form in german when I try to reply to a best offer. eBay is really screwed up right now. Monday, I was hearing a "click click, click" as the page was loading the different parts. Strange.

Me too. It was driving me nuts. I'd delete cookies, clear the cache and it would go away for a couple minutes and then come back. It was some fubared scripting that was trying to load in rapid succession.

    Stop using Internet Explorer.

I just looked again to make sure, but it now doesn't show the start time, just the end time. It doesn't say the original auction length, 1/3/5/7/10 days. It doesn't say the starting price after bids have been placed. Please correct me if I'm wrong. This was all info that I paid attention to.

Edited to admit that I had missed the show/hide details clicker thingy. All is well, carry on.

I didn't notice Ebay was broken, so why did they fix it?image

    Stop using Internet Explorer.

That isn't the problem. If they have something trying to load on the page, it'll be there no matter what browser you have. I also have firefox and eBay was running the same way as on IE.

There was no process improvement therefore it was not necessary. Just change for the sake of change.

They have to find something to justify paying their programmers to work so they dicker around with the
    template. image

It is coin related - many people sell coins on Ebay so it is directly related.

Can't see the bigger picture very well can you?

<What do all think of eBay's new auction template?>

michigan, the amount of crap posts in the US coin forum
has even started to bother me.

20 ebay posts a day is just too much, so i am voicing
my distaste for the warping of this US coin forum into
    an open forum.

if it was asking an opinion of a coin sold on ebay i would
    have no problem.

but really, a new template? please..

then why in the HELL did you open the thread?

was someone forcing you to do so at gunpoint?

I don't understand some of the chronic crybabies and whiners around here. You'll take the time to not only open a thread that you have no interest in and as if that isn't enough, you'll post to it how much it bothers you.

Simple solution. Don't open threads like this and by all means don't post your BS within the thread after you've opened it because frankly, nobody gives a rat's ass.

and yes, it IS coin related.

    I don't like it.

I have to actually look for the "Watch this Item" link image

I hate to be an old person (no offense image) but I liked things the way they WERE.

  • The new template sucks. Though it didnt slow down my uploading of auction pics or starting an auction last night... Currently I'm seeing the old template on my work computer and the new template on the home computer go figure!
