grading fees

Am I correct in this: any card with a declared value above 75.00 and below 500.00 costs $13.00 to grade. So, if I have off grade (4-7) 60's stars, that I want to grade for liquidity, Do they have a value above 75.00 or below? image or should I even bother grading them?

referring to this special? You can declare the value at $2 if you want, as long as it's below $500.

As far as the liquidity of grading, what do these cards usually sell for in PSA 4-7 grades? I have no clue.
  • Thats what I saying, The cost per card is $13.00, if declared value is between 75 and 500; when I was talking about 75.00 and below I was refering to bulk specials, over 100 cards etc., . So it will cost me $1300.00 to grade 100 stars, Doesn't seem worth it to me? Would you agree? To keep it simple...........Lets say a vg 66 Topps mantle is worth 90.00 raw(ungraded); Will I get over 90.00 if graded VG 3? Any input appreciated........

Not to jinx myself but I have teetered close to their "max" value before and not had a problem. Anything close to $75 in the expected grade and you are fine. I don't think they are analyzing as close as we all think here on the boards. It would be too time consuming for them to "value" each card carefully. Just don't be greedy. Don't send a MINT Mays or Aaron but anything reasonable and they don't care in my opinion. Good luck.

Value is reimbursement value, or what you paid, not your expected value. If you had to prove an insurance claim, you would have to show proof of purchase for the value of the items claimed. I can't send in a $1.00 card and say, well it would have been a 1/1 PSA 10, so it's really "worth" $100. I'm pretty certain I would only be paid my $1 purchase price.

But, what do I know? Maybe I'm doing it wrong.
