The problem is that it is not simply an issue of toning on the surface, but corrosion that looks to be eating into the surface of the coin. I don't think there's anything useful here that NCS could or even attempt to do. Yeah, I think we're talking Tommie Lee ....

I think someone already tried to remove that stuff. Look at the area underneath the chin which is ever uglier than the rest of the coin. It probably looks as good, right now, as it ever could.

Sort of makes me laugh when the dark residue from being in the ground is referred to as "toning." I mean, I guess it's toning, but only for lack of a better word.

I would think if you remove that stuff from that surface and you will end up with the equivalent of Tommy Lee Jones' face.
