Will PCGS be selling boxes at Baltimore?

I really need a storage box for my slabs. Can you buy them at shows? What does PCGS charge?

  • NGC's fit both NGC and PCGS so are better--but ask a dealer for one if you buy a coin, or wait till end of the show where they're thrown out or tossed in empty booths on floor.image

Yep, you can sometimes get them from dealers on the floor for free or a buck or two.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

If I remember correctly there was a time when PCGS would give you one if you asked. I don't know if they still do that or not.

If you submit 6 coins on a submission you get them shipped back in a blue box, if you need a couple drop me a PM. I have plenty of extras.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

I agree with Morgannut2 - get an NGC box. Will hold most slabs with no problems.
The PCGS box will drive you nuts if you have any non-PCGS coins.
Dealers may give you one, or sell you one for a few bucks.
At worst you can buy them directly from NGC - just check with customer service.

I just got one I don't need. I also probably have another one or two. If you need one EMPTY, let me know.

Thank you so much, Marty and tmot99. If I don't figure something out on my own soon, I will PM you for sure. No offense, tmot99, but I really like the pedigree of getting a box which could have been shipped with one of Marty's legendary AU58s in it.
