  • Sorry - I should have explained myself better.

I'd like to look at them in order to verify PCGS prices since I know next to nothing about US coins.

  • try www.pcgs.com/prices/

Teletrade and Heritage has auction archives including pics. You have to join but its free.

  • Thanks guys - but I am still confused !!!

For example I saw an 1908 Indian $2.50 MS 64 for $2,200 yet PCGS lists those as commanding $2,600. If $2,200 were such a bargain wouldn't everybody be wanting it ?

Also I saw an 1911-D St Gauden MS 65 for $1550 but PCGS also lists these as being worth more. What gives ?

I know absolutely nothing about $2.50 gold, but I know a couple of things about price lists. First of all, every price list in the world is flawwed. Second, the PCGS price list is for coins in PCGS plastic. For coins, like gold, which are often counterfeited, PCGS coins should bring more money than coins which are raw or graded by a third world outfit.
    I collect circulated U.S. silver

Here's my real-world exerience with $2.5 Indian gold (08-29) as it pertains to the PCGS price guide. It's funny how it varies within the guide. This applies to slabbed PCGS.NGC/ANACS certified dates:
-- An excellent AU tends to fetch a bit more than the price guide value.
-- MS60 about what the guide says.
-- MS62 a bit more or less than the guide, it depends on the coin and the demand at a given nanosecond.
-- MS63 right around the number or maybe a little less
-- MS64 less than the number, substantially!
-- MS65 scarce and out of my league, I haven't even looked.
