Have you seen this Morgan Super Set?

I don't know how long this Morgan Super Set category has existed, but WOW.

    I would love to see a complete set displayed. Would not have to be the best, just complete. That would be a sight.

    I know one should never say never but...The odds of a Super Set being completed are extremely remote -- at least until somebody dies. This is because of two coins: 1889 VAM 23A and 1921-D VAM 1X.

    Only one problem-free VAM 23A is known to exist, and the owner doesn't have a VAM 1X.

    Only one example, period, of VAM 1X is known to exist, and the owner has no chance of getting VAM 23A away from its owner.

    The two collectors know each other and are friends. If either one is able to locate another example of the other's star coin, then I believe each has the necessary coins to complete a Super Set. As for the rest of us, well, it isn't going to happen.

    DennisH you're right. Still, those words "known to exist" always leave magical thoughts of hope.

    Didn't I read somewhere that PCGS would include coins in set composition only when the coin population was 5 or more??? If so, then why are pop 1 coins included?

    I see the number one set cherried a Scarface raw! That's amazing to me. I look at every dang 88O and have yet to see one attributed or otherwise. One of these days I hope to find one. image
