Teletrade catalogs

I was checking out auction histories on Teletrade tonight and noticed this on the "how it works" page.

I have a few catalogs from Long Beach Auctions and Heritage auctions, are the Teletrade catalogs similar? How do I go about getting the catalogs from Teletrade?

Thanks,

They used to insert them in the middle of Numismatic News and (I think) Coin World. I used to get their newsprint ones in the mail regularly until several years back. Didn't know that they even bothered printing catalogues anymore. I did like having their Real Price Guides though.

I'd be surprised if they still printed catalogs. I used to get them a long time ago.

Were the catalogs like a mini newspaper or were they a bound book?

A mini-newspaper. I have to say that their lot descriptions back then (before internet bidding and available images) were generally very good and honest. I liked TT more before Greg Manning bought them.

I'd say they just havn't updated the how it works page to reflect the changes in their operations. The really interesting ones were the very early catalogs which were VCR tapes showing both sides of the coins. I have copies made of two original tapes but I have to admit that I haven't viewed them yet so I can't give any better description of them yet. I'd lie t get my hands on some of the originals but the only ones I've seen offered was selling them as a set and I couldn't afford the price.

They still send an occasional promotional flyer for specific auctions, but no more regular catalogs.

The first catalog just shows the obverse of each lot for 3-4 seconds and then the reverse for 3-4 seconds before moving on to the next lot. Each catalog takes about 90 minutes to cover the entire sell. Starting with the second catalog, each lot is displayed with background music playing. If you don't fall asleep after 10 minutes, you're either on speed or ready to be a PCGS grader.
