Something doesn't look right about this coin so I thought I would post it here for the experts to wager a guess?

    If this seller know it was real, it would be in a slab. He knows it's fake!

    A replica it appears to be, but arguably it is not counterfeit since I believe these were of private mintage and not from the US Mint.

    Definitely looks like a cast counterfeit to me. It's got a very rough, crude texture to it. To his credit, the bidder does state that it's "probably" a replica:

    Unknown whether this is original or replica, probably the latter, although it is not marked in any manner. I have tried to show many views of this coin, so please see the pictures and use your best judgement. At any rate, it is an interesting piece that displays nicely. Even if counterfeit, it is an unusual coin that will make a unique example for your collection, at a Low start price.

    If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.
