I'd describe that coin as MS63 RB, splashes of golden orange dancing across the coins surface like a numismatic ballerina.

MS63RB though a slab grade of MS64RB wouldn't surprise me. Just a few too many carbon marks for me.

64RB.

Just picked up my own for type at the last show. Amazing that you can get a coin like this . . . obsolete denomination, from a tumultuous time in our country, coined from dire necessity, with a cool design, toned, in 64 with even some red left, for just over $200 or so. Go to a 63 and they are even more doable.

Nice look . . . I love it. Lots. Your photography is beyond reproach. My HS English class would call it 'sick' . . or 'bad' (which is the new 'good').

I knew this coin's perilous grading journey from BB to superstar, but I think its accurately a 63RB.

True View eat your heart out. That is an awesome pic. Who cares what the grade is. I would take it even if it was a low 60. I would guess 65 on this one.

I have no idea on the grade. I am wondering if it is slabbed or not though. It appears to be raw to me but some people think it is in a slab?

That is a real bummer. I like this coin--I have no clue as to the grade (why I didn't try the first time), but it looks like a good one to my eye.

Well, we all know how PCGS is with toned copper. They like a few trips through before they holder them.

On the plus side, there were 8 old coins on this submission and this was the only bodybag - and, most of the others graded higher than I thought they would. Aside from this one, which we knew was a possibility, the owner is a very happy clam.

He may be happier about the AU50 20c piece. He bought that one raw. The Bustie was cracked out of an NGC MS62 holder.
