    Didn't see your post before I made mine. Yeah, this was pretty surprising. I heard it just a little while ago while listening to the Red Sox vs Twins exhibition game in FL.

    Glaucoma is what cut short Puckett's baseball career. Strokes are caused by high blood pressure which can be the the result of glaucoma.

    That coupled with an unhealthy life style lead to disaster. Kirby has not kept himself in the greatest shape since his retirement.

    I hope everything works out well for him.

    After that article in SI about Kirby's personal life, I really cannot muster any sympathy for him.
