Which would you rather have............................

I'm trying to decide which way to go from here and just thought I would get some opinoins.

Should I continue collecting all dimes with the early dates (1796-1804) being only vg and some key dates in the seated series being low grade with the rest being like what I have now AU to BU64.

Or just collect the P-mint coins (date set) and get the 1796-1804 in nice XF and the Cap Bust dimes in nice AU and the rest all MS63 or better.

I already know what you think Paul, but let me have it anyway.

Thanks for any opinoins anyone may have.

OK...here is my opinion. You should collect everything you can and complete the set. Then when it is complete, offer the lower graded coins to chumps such as Mistercoinman, Dan50, and myself! imageimage

    Thats what I would dooooooooooooooooooooo!

    Dimeman:

You have collected a long enough time to know what would please you most.

Look at how you asked the question:

Hmm, two negative thoughts there (only & low) offset by two positive thoughts (key & like what I have now) ?

Hmm, only one negative thought (just) more than offset by three positive thoughts (nice & nice & better).

Seems as if you yourself prefer the latter option?

Isn't that what it is all about?

I guess what got me thinking of this again......is that there is a real nice 1802 PCGS40 out there for around 12K. It would take most of my key date barbers to trade for that. Like the 97-s 01-s 96-o 97-o 98-o 01-o 03-s and so on. These are all nice AU to MS62 coins and are hard to find, but the 1802 in XF is REALLY hard to find and pay for.

    Which would you rather have?

I'd rather have all of the Barbers.

    Jon:

Does it matter what we want?

    What do YOU want?

Those nice barbers are not irreplaceable in that grade but the 1802 is nearly so.

But this is only one way of looking at it.
