Southern man hands over antique coinage to museum

A resident in southern Vietnam recently found a 50 kg hoard of antique coins, believed to date back to the 11th to 19th centuries, and handed it over to the local museum.
The zinc and brass coins all have holes in their center by which they were strung together and measure 20-24 millimeters across.
Nguyen Van Tu of Mo Cay commune in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre discovered the coins, stored in a pottery jar, while he was digging in his garden.
According to the museum’s preliminary analysis, they were minted between 1010 and 1819.
The coins bear the names of Thien Thanh Nguyen Bao, Trieu Phong Binh Bao, Thanh Nguyen Thong Bao, Canh Hung Thong Bao, Chieu Thong Thong Bao, and Thai Hoa Thong Bao belonging to the Ly, Tran, Ho, and Le dynasties which ruled the northern part of Vietnam.
ANCIENT COIN FIND GIVEN TO LOCAL MUSEUM
Meanwhile, the 2 Vietnamese coins I got at the FUN show, and dropped off at the NGC table are STILL at NGC! They said the coins were sent to an outside expert for evaluation. At first I was a little disappointed and then Andy Lustig mentioned how its actually good news as other services might have just sent the coins back ungraded . He's right.

Not even the best graders can know all there is to know about all coinage. I respect NGC for having experts that they can go to under such circumstances. I am certain that PCGS does this too.
