If MOSH does not already own a 10, they will as soon as this auction ends.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

If he spends this kind of money on modern RCs, I'm sure he has a huge snipe set ...

    1993 SP JEROME BETTIS PSA 10 ... $1,005

I would have paid more. I missed the auction because my saved search has 1993, not 93. Oh well, seller's loss.

    franklin dominated w/ broken hand.

penn fight was by far the most entertaining. canadian got busted up but eeked out victory. penn did more damage, hard to score. i could tell champ matt whoever didn't want to fight penn, he'd much rather face guy he's already defeated. fans not cheering much for him either.... ouch!

I had that happen a couple times as well. Now, all of my searches include both variations (1993, 93, 1994, 94, etc). My current favorite search is for 2001 Atomic Prism patches:

    atomic (2001,01) (jersey*, patch*) -2002 -02

    Seems to work well image

The Marcus Allen PSA 10 RCs are still selling for strong prices to ... also, have you seen the recent prices for Dan Marino PSA 10 RCs?

Wow! No I hadn't! Wasn't the Marino a $600 card a year ago? What would make it go to $1500? Modern football is crazy strong... I'm being outbid on things that any time over the last 5 years I would be the only bidder.

It's amazing what happened to Bettis' value in one year. I am working on the Top 10 career rushing leaders and passed up on a PSA 10 SP Bettis cards at $250. I figured it would drop by half after he retired. Oh well my loss.

I know it's an old line, but SMR is too low for 1970's through 1982 high grade HOF football rookies. I have to credit ebay for the rise since good vintage football is hard to find at most local shows and the net has provided a nice supply (therefore creating the market). Whenever I come across it, I buy it up. Dealers seem relieved to get rid of it because they have had it for a long time.

IMHO - Wouldn't a 1972 Topps Roger Staubach PSA 10 be the Holy Grail for Cowboy fans?

I'm lucky. Since I am a fan of the Lions, the C- student of the NFL, I already own the holy grail for us - 1989 Score Barry Sanders PSA 10 for under $150. I know some old-timers may say Bobby Layne, but Bobby actually had a team around him, no Ford ownership, and Wayne "Big Buck" Fontes.

The Bettis has long been the toughest of the SP RCs. Even PSA 9's are not at all common on eBay. If the 10 had come up on eBay any time over the last 4 years for $250, it would have sold image. BTW, PM me the guy's information if you still have it image.

It was actually at the Sun Times show last year (or was it 2004?). It was one of the small local weekend Chicago dealers that set-up at the fringes of the show. I'm sure it's gone now. The last two I need are Bettis and Curtis Martin. The strategy worked for Martin, his RCs have fell, as for Bettis, I lost big time.

Now THAT'S a image card worthy of a "pretty penny". I think the sky's the limit on such a tough rookie card of such a popular player.

    Joe,

You are right ... Marino PSA 10 RCs were selling in the high $500s to low $600s range nearly 6 months ago. I'm not sure what happened, but there's been nearly 10 sold between $1200 and $1600 lately. With the PSA 10 population so high, it's an unusual trend.

PSA 9s are selling strong as well. I picked up this one because of the centering ...

There is only one PSA 10 1972 Staubach. It sold at auction recently for $22033.00. I like to keep my "Holy Grails" in perspective.

yeah Franklin was on point the whole fight..

i say GSP won his fight easily against Penn.. all Penn did was break GSP's nose to create all the bleeding, other than that, he got beat..

my favorite fight of the night was the canadian Hominick's win by triangle over Yves Edwards.. ive never liked edwards too much..

yves edward is definitely a bad ass, he's beaten some top notch dudes in brutal fights.. he calls his jiujitsu "thugjitsu".. heh..

but yeah, i was glad to see him tap out..

nah its not gonna be Franklin -vs- Gracie, it's Matt Hughes -vs- Gracie.. i'm stoked about seeing it, ROyce is a legend, and he's still younger than alot of fighters..
