Some days at the coin shop, it's nothing. But every once in a while it's paydirt! The 1880 v39A makes my third one and I believe this one will grade MS where my other two are AUs.
Today's finds include. . .
1878 rev of 79 Short Leaf v203
1878 rev of 78 Broken D v195
1880 Clashed E v39A The Partial E
1880 Clashed E v39A The Die Break

With over a foot of fresh snow in the driveway, I wasn't going anywhere today.
Great job

Would you show a picture of the full reverse of the VAM-39a. I have never seen one and I can't find a reference that shows one.
Thanks,
Charlie

That was me you outbid on that one. No biggie; I went as high as I was willing to go.
I lost a VAM-1Z yesterday because I was babysitting and the kids distracted me from the auction. It went for less than $11.

Yup, a lot of us were on this one.......couldn't get my last bid in quick enough.....
I am now going to a snip program.....
Messydesk....what was that auction number ?? I may have gotten that one.
Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.

Sorry for the delay, I was out of town for a few days. Here's a picture of Chris Smolinski's coin, since it's the only one I have handy at the moment. . .

Interesting that the Mint made a lot of coins with that reverse and never noticed it.
If you find an 1880-P Morgan with that reverse, look closely to determine the vam. Clashed coins, though, are always 39A in my experience.
