How do you Think This Morgan Would grade at PCGS Today?

The mirrors are very deep and clear both sides:

Looks pretty clean but bigger pictures are needed before Ill go for an actual numerical grade.

Remove it from the holder and take the pics again (there's not enough detail now).

On my monitor that coin looks like a monster. But as I've lurked, I have also learned . . . grading from pix is a dangerous game. Still, I like it. What a cheek.

Looks like a 66-something for starters.
    When in doubt, don't.

Dragon, that is a moose of a coin! Wow!
I love the presentation in the capitol plastic.
Grade with PCGS? On a coin like that, who cares? image

It is very hard to tell from the pictures. It looks to have MS69 devices and MS63 fields. It is obviously at least PL. If you say it has deep mirrors on both sides, then DMPL. I completely trust your judgement ever since you had that bet with some other forum member. I don't remember the details, only that I was really impressed.

The frost is genuine, it's my 6 yr. old cheap scanner that accounts for the poor pic. image

How noticeable is the print on the obverse?

66, but nothing for the mirrors. Won't those mirrors continue to diminish or change if left in that holder?

  • Gorgeous! I love it. I'd like to examine it more closely. I'll throw out MS 66 DMPL.

If I bought it I'd leave it as is. I know many others would dip it to try to insure the DMPL designation... My guess is it isn't for sale. image
