why are you people even looking at his website and then complaining? cant you find the card you're interested in somewhere else cheaper? if so, buy it and shut up..

Levi sold me a well-centered 1959 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 8 for $1695 last year. That card routinely breaks $2000 on ebay. If you want quality and selection for vintage baseball, especially for Mantle, there are very few other places to go.
He does not rip people off on either buy or sell. I know many dealers in Detroit and Chicago that sell to him direct because he pays top dollar. Stop by his booth at the Sun Times show and judge for yourself.
He is one of the best national dealers out there. Much better than Kit Young.
. If someone gets into a bidding war on Ebay for something because they need or want it, I do not here them complaining later that they were charged too much.
No, they would be complaining that the shipping was 6.00
Jayhawke - Yes it was my experience and the experience of many veteran dealers I know. Levi is considered one of the best national guys out there. While Kit Young and the like will cherry pick your collection, Levi takes almost all vintage in bulk and pays fair.
You may have felt he ripped you off, but that is your experience.
I suggest the others who think he is a scam, please check out his table at the Sun Times show. He is not the cheapest, but he does deal on cards if you are serious.
this doesn't change the fact that he charges 200 dollars for a torn card. Also, he has a poor basketball card selection and none of his cards are graded by SGC.
<< <i>this doesn't change the fact that he charges 200 dollars for a torn card. >>
Why does it matter what he charges for a card that you apparently have no interest in?
I wouldn't pay $5 for that rag but if the guy can get $200 I don't really care. Its his business, his cards and he can charge whatever he likes. People will either pay or they won't. Obviously he must be doing something right.
i think it is cheap to put that high of a price tag on that card. So I wouldn't give him a nickel of my business. That is just me. It is indicative of who he is as a dealer.
Levi has a good amount of cards and is a very fair man. Of course he's going to try and get the most for his cards, but he does deal as well if you buy multiple cards. I have never had an issue with him at all.

It was very clear to me from the beginning. My point is that others could read that and come to the conclusion that you were indeed ripped off. And that would not be fair to Levi who does not rip people off, regardless of your so called experience with him.
<< <i>regardless of your so called experience with him >>
So are you calling me a liar? Is that what you are doing? Do you have intimate knowledge of everyone one of Levi's buy and sells, and the ones that did not go through? If you don't, then please stop spinning your web. Others could read that and come to the conclusion that you know about every deal he has every made.
All dealers have some high prices. Aside from that Mantle depicted, I would bet Levi and Jim know thae market better than the folks at SMR. Some cards are high, some are lower than you would pay on eBay.
If you don't like a price, move on ... but I am sure many looked at his website because of this thread and I'm sure the folks at 707 enjoyed the extra exposure.
Jad..............first off you are the troll , secondly how do you know that he does? Go back to the sports forum where you make idiotic statements like: Joe Di Maggio and mantle were over rated.
Jay.............No, not calling you a liar. Just FOS. You claimed in one sentence he tried to rip you off then in another you answered that he had. That is why I said 'so called'

I've posted seveal humorous times in this thread, but I'd like to input my opinion on Levi.
I have been looking for a 1990 Topps Frank Thomas NNOF PSA 8 or higher. The last PSA 8 sold on eBay for around $600 with shipping. I recently bought a PSA 8 from Levi for $450 and it looks significantly more 'high-end' than the one that sold on eBay for $600. In my dealing with Levi, I've been more than impressed.

Now that we both have cleared that up, please answer my original question.
<< <i>Do you have intimate knowledge of everyone one of Levi's buy and sells, and the ones that did not go through? >>
Jad I think you need to go back under the rock from where you came.

Jay.........No, i do not. I guess I know about as much of his business dealings as you did of Wondo and the 67 set that you claimed was shilled.
I will take your advice under consideration Steve, however I still think it is ridiculous for you dad, Levi, to charge 200 dollars for that card. Lets be clean and watch the personnal attacks Steve.
<< <i>Jay.........No, i do not. I guess I know about as much of his business dealings as you did of Wondo and the 67 set that you claimed was shilled. >>
I justed wanted to make sure others reading the thread understand that you do not know. Your comments about him are only your beliefs. There is a big difference between a fact and a belief. As usually you are being cute, bringing up the Wondo thing. Try to compare apples and apples, not apples and oranges.
I believe the poster who referenced a certain member of Mr. Orlando's family who held a certain position on a certain airline or something got booted. But I could be wrong.

That is correct.
Someone better let Levi know that his business may fall 0.0%.

I have never seen the phrase "Moroccan Souk" on the PSA boards.
I have never seen the phrase "Viking Funeral" on the PSA boards.

There you have it.
