When coins are graded by any of the big 3 are the coins.....

.........looked at under a loop????


This coin looks great at arms length............but pull out the loop, holy moly!!


this is a case of I bought the plastic and the nicely toned coin is secondary..image but a 64.....image

Nice die cracks too...........I guess when Thomas got his head gashed it cracked the dies..

    Some of those gouges are deep...

    that one is ms62ish to me, and not a 4 holder coin.... color is nice on it though, and the die cracks are cool....

    you probably got that one on the cheap anyways....

  • Maybe I'm missing something, but the enlarged pic shows a 1943-D, not a 1942-D. And it is no-way a 64!

    besides coins I collect plastic also, as in mechanical errors and heaven forbid, sample slabs................................there I've said it,

    I agree with Lucy that it shouldn't be any higher than a 62, but the toning is fairly nice.....

    Yes the toning is nice, I like the colors,

    that is a big gash.


    So now there is a 1942 D in a 1943 D MS62 holder that should be a 64..image

    I'll keep my eye open for that slab..image

    Yep, in my opinon its a 63 coin, but the market grading has effected slabs and to be honest I would be delighted to buy that coin for ms64 dollars it a very nice example.
