With all the changes in coins, I'm getting really excited for the coins coming out over the next few years. What designs are you looking forward to, or not looking forward to. Why or why not. Only upcoming coins with current legislation, or proposed discussion please.
I'm really looking forward to the 09 Lincoln. Not so much the 4 different designs of it, but the date itself. Also, I'm a little excited to see a edge lettering back on coins with the Presidential dollars. And lastly I'm kind of tired of the state quarters so I can't wait until they are done. Does anyone know if the past (1998) washington design will resume?

The only one I'm really eager to see is the centennial Lincoln cent.

I hate that they've removed the word liberty from the upcoming dollar coin. Maybe they think we'll forget we're supposed to have it.

I must have missed that do you have any info on that?

It's in the legislation, since it has the Statute of Liberty on the back they don'y feel the word LIBERTY needs to appear on the coin.

I still have some hope for a new design on the '09 quarter. There's little question
that it will be different than the old Washington's but it will be interesting to see if
there is the courage to start a real redesign rather than merely rehashing the old ones.

Even if it reverts to the old design, it will still make a fascinating series. It's hard to
believe we're down to the last full two years of the states coins already. It seems
only yesterday that these started and it seemed to take forever from proposal to the
first issue.

I don't think a lot of people are thinking about the 09 quarters, I haven't heard anyone really mention them. Hopefully whatever happens, the design won't be cheesy or (if they stick with George) that it won't be the spagetti hair one

i do not expect much design wise from these new coins.
if the nickels and quarters are anything to judge the future by,
it looks very crappy to me then.

i do not go out of my way to research it.. i just feel that the
current designs are done by a politically correct committee comrades.
