I have to give Topps some credit.....reluctantly......for Heritage....

I was at the card shop today and saw the new Topps Heritage cards. Nicely done. I might actually buy some new product for the first time in 15 years, though the thought of shelling out $65-70 for a box containing less than 200 cards makes me think twice.
But true to form, Topps takes a good thing and nearly ruins it:
1) Why the stupid "Topps Heritage" logo on the cards? The beauty of the '57 design is its minimalist look. The logo nearly ruins that. Ugh.
2) Why so many inserts, and more to the point, why have any inserts at all? I realize I'm going totally against the grain here, but with Heritage, why not produce a very limited production base set, short print some of the cards (or hey, how about a mid-series?), and leave it at that? I wish Topps had the confidence to do something like that, but those days appear gone forever. It's not about the cards anymore, it's about chasing odds like one does in a Vegas casino.
Stay classy,
Ron

Welcome! Heritage was a crap shoot back in 2001. It really wasn't the type of product that people were looking for. Back then you
had to load a product up with rookies. Heritage had none, but what they did have was history on its side. People loved the
1952 set, and who better to copy that than topps 50 years later. What topps also threw in was an autograph checklist that
will never be put out again and a redemption for every single 1952 card made! You will never see that again either.
Heritage was the set of the year in 2001 and that was a tough thing to do with all the Pujols and Ichiro rookie products. Heritage
brought the modern card collector and the vintage card collector back together again (if only for a month or so)
Topps knows they can put this out every year and sell out, they can also do the same with chrome and BDP. That is good for them, but
bad for us. I have found the value in these boxes have been going down every since. I might also have you know that there are collectors
here who if had the chance like you had to buy a box at 65, they would buy them all, myself included!
The design of these cards are amazing, the heritage logo does not take away from the beauty. I wish you good luck if you buy any! Enjoy!

All the members in my collecting group by a case or 2 every year that's how much they love the product.
Ok, my rant is over, carry on with all this great talk about Topp's new PRODUCT
