Grading help? I'm new, is this card any good?

I have a 1965 Philadelphia Willie Davis, I was thinking about sending it to get graded but I don't want to have it come back as a 4 and I have to laugh at myself. I made a high resolution scan, can anybody tell me what they think it would be? It presents itself pretty well except the green dot by his ear. If you have dial-up don't click, it's pretty big.

I really appreciate the help. If I can get this figured out I want to join and send a bunch like it in to get graded.

Thanks in advance!

Well... since you're looking for opinions, I'd say GRADE IT. I think you'll get better than a 4... maybe a 7 or an 8 (just from looking at the scan.) Nice card.

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!

Edited to add.. wouldn't it be great if eBay sellers had scans like that.

It looks like a solid 6 to me, with a chance at a 7. The top right corner is the weakest link. The bottom is rough cut, but generally this does not result in a lesser grade. The centering is nice. I did not notice any creases or wrinkles, but check the back for any before submitting. A wrinkle usually will result in EX as the highest grade.

Thanks guys, I was thinking maybe 7, probably since I'm new I'll get a 6. I have about 300 of these so I'll wait for a special I think. I just didn't want them all to come back 6s or less, and I read you guys talking about making mistakes when you were new. I'm new.

Ebay sellers don't have scans like that because it costs money. A good/big scan shows every flaw, and magnifies every flaw. The Buyer hopes the seller screwed up and the card is nicer than described. It comes and the buyer is disappointed. Kind of like Charlie Brown and the football. It's gonna happen, but we fall for it anyway.

    Thanks again

    Hi Jim

Also, the lower left border has a tiny piece of the white veneer missing - so I'm gonna say 6.

If you submit tons at one time and the guy starts flying thru them? Perhaps a 7?

    Anyway, nice scan!

    Good luck
I will be looking for your report!
