Mantle undervalued

I'm new to the forum and I'm excited to be able to be involved. Been a card collector for many years. I have a question to ask. I feel that the '52 Topps Mantle Card is severely underpriced for being one of the top cards of all time. There are less than 100 of the cards grades 7-10 in existence. I believe the SMR prices are $8-15k lower than what you can really buy a card for. The last 7 sold for $42k. What gives?

The PSA SMR is not an accurate "price guide". It is very slow to change and many cards are listed at ridiculously low prices. The true gauge of the card's price is, as you say, EBAY and the auction markets. There, the true value of the card can be found.

    First welcome!

This is a great place to talk about sports cards and stuff.

I'm inferring "investment" by your question?

That's been discussed here many times and a good one at that.

I totally agree with Mantlefan who is one of the experts - as if the name doesn't give that away. LOL

When the forum is full, it would be fun to discuss investment cards and memorabilia.

Until then, don't be a stranger and I look forward to you "getting involved."
