I got some offer for a credit card from the ANA today. Sure, I want to advertise to the whole world I'm a coin collector.

<< <i>I got that yesterday. Frankly, I'm too spoiled by cards that give you cash back and travel rewards these days to use a card that doesn't give them. >>
Yeah, I know the ANA gets a cut of the transactions using their credit card, but I'd rather just send them a check. I also like those cash back cards.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
Got too many of the already.....

We only have one credit card and this Target Visa is doing nothing for me.
<< <i>I support the ANA, but the credit card and membership directories are NOT good ideas. >>
I believe the membership directory idea came about because other organizations have them
and the ANA felt that a directory could raise the profile of the ANA (a keeping up with the jone's
mentality). Problem is that most collectors are not keen on the idea of the directory falling into
the wrong hands. There was so much confusion as to who would be in the directory and what
the procedure was to get out of being in there that the ANA just dropped the whole idea.

Citibank Dividend Card pays 5% cash back on groceries, restaurant meals and gas up to $300.
Citibank Home Rebate card pays 1% back on all purchases credited toward your mortgage balance (with any lender) and with no limit.
Those are the two cards I use the most.
I'll pass on the ANA card, too.

Honestly, I'd wouldn't mine having a card with a money motif, but I have too much plastic as it is (mostly from a certain company who always asks, "whats in your wallet?")
<< <i>what's a good "Cash Back" card with NO annual fee???

Blue Cash from American Express. It's AWESOME.

I have to agree on that one - the ANA should be spending more time on promoting the hobby and less on giving outside companies a mailing list on all the members so sell things that probably 98% of them have no need for. And I think that companies like Heritage should not be getting these lists either - all they do is clog up my mailbox!
Rant off. Beautiful morning here. Had a wonderful short flight yesterday, and some nice coins en route...
