has anyone reached a new goal?

As i have been working aggressively on my Carew Master Set this past year or so, i was able to get the Master Weight over the 8.5 (8.52) mark and my GPA is almost to the 8 (7.90) plateau.

I currently have another 70 Carew's at PSA right now being graded for upgrades and new additions.

Good luck with your current goals

I finally hit 80% on my NFL HOF auto set. The only problem is that I have to get them all graded. I have around 120 in for grading now - and the rest are still raw. Those grading fees are killing me!!

It's not much, but I upgraded my 1991 Upper Deck Noan Ryan Heroes Set to the finest possible set rating (9.51) at 100% complete.

I'm a card or two away from a 9.0 GPA on my 1960 Fleer football set. Can anyone help?
  • What a timely thread. After getting back my greatest ever submission today, some huge strides have been made toward most of my goals. I went back to a thread initiated back in November on 2005-2006, in which I said the following:

"Personally, I'd like to continue to move toward complete 10.00 sets on both the 1970 Kellogg's BB and FB sets (got a LONG way to go, but found several in 2005), get my Sayers basic set up to complete 9s, and continue to upgrade my Payton Master set towards highest possible grade on each card. One very specific goal is to find/acquire PSA 10s on the 1977, 1984 and/or 1985 Payton Topps basic cards."

Well, today I received back a 1977 Topps Payton PSA 10 (1st ever!!). I now have the sole #1 slot on the Payton Basic, and now have just a dozen or so from the highest on each Payton Master Set item, although most of those are very tough 1/1's buried on the MOSH pit.

As for the 1970 Kellogg's BB and FB, I landed the last two PSA 10s on the FB set, so that I now have 59 out of 60 PSA 10, with just the ever-off center Mike Garrett left. On the BB side, I pulled down 7 of the last 14 PSA 10s I need, including the Brooks Robinson, a huge addition.

The Sayers goals have gone nowhere, as nobody ever seems to have a MINT Basic Sayers for sale/auction. Otherwise, I'd say my goals of November have already largely been met.

    Best wishes to all!!!

"has anyone reached a new goal?"

    Yes!
    I filed for bankruptcy yesterday!

Wasn't a goal necessarily, more of a by-product of buying too many cards... image

I just added my first card to my set with a weight of 10. Of course I also paid 10+ times what I normally pay for a card with a weight of 1.

I guess my goal now is to expand open these #'s and bring more of the sets closer to completion.

  • Today, I just took over #1 on the Lawrence Taylor Basic Set. It has been a hard fought, but very fun and exciting battle with McCormack63 - a great competitor. We both have taken this player set to new levels.

I reached 90% on my 1963 Fleer Football set. I'm now 9 cards short of completion. 45 cards were on the bay the last 2 days and although I did pick up 4 cards none were hole fillers. I picked up 4 centered 8's to replace 2 weakers 8 and 2 7's. Most of the prices were high and I got knocked out of the water on hole fillers. I guess because I passed on off centered 8's and just went for nicer ones. Guess what? So did everyone else.

My goal is to complete my 59Topps Baseball set to 100% Graded.I am about 60% right now however at least 25 cards are graded by GAI,SGC & BGS however I will eventually cross them over then enter it onto the Registry.Cards range from PSA6 which are in the minority to PSA 9 with qualifiers. This will include all variations and grey and cream colored backs for #s 199 to #286.
As of Today I have the 4th Ranking 1959 Tiger team set on the registery at 7.48 complete not spectacular compared to the 3 ahead of me but respectable just the same.I would like to have the 59 set completed within the next 2 years.I now have 50 additional cards at PSA being graded.I am uncertain if I will upgrade another set after that is completed.

It has been a lot of fun and challenging and also quite stressfull on occasion.
