Who has the earliest 2006 Sacagaweas?

KaelasdadKaelasdad Posts: 1,232 ✭✭✭
Just got mine today, 8:04 AM on 2-22 was noted on the white box. Looked on Ebay and couple rolls were for sale that were 2-22 as well. Anybody have earlier strikes--if not I may just keep mine in the box for a while.

We got our box of P-mint 2006's today (Mar. 1). Rather indifferent quality.
Don't know why they didn't ship them along with the D-mints to save postage.

correct me if I am wrong here:

coin ejects from the press and goes into a huge bin

bin gets filled to top and is sent for bagging/packaging

do the earliest bags/rolls get packaged starting from the coins at the bottom of the bin?

I dont think so, so whats the big deal about early numbers?

I was curious as to the shipping, the mint website mentioned mid feb. I like the reasoning that the earlier coins might be in the bottom of the bin, it did make sense, but in case that was not the case, it might be just as well to set aside a really early box. I thought it was an easy question, Im sorry you thought it was a big deal. Others seemed to take the question in the spirit asked, except for Offmetal, who seems to have an inside track at the mint image

Wonder if he can get some Plats before they go on sale....

Got my "P"'s a few days ago.

I don't know what date they were struck, don't care either. I just put the things away and I am happy in my little world of knowing I gotta nother group of sacs.

So how many high grade CAM or DCAM did you get? Are you just into the "First Strike" game? As far as I'm concerned unless you get a CAM or DCAM that will make you money it doesn't matter.

i haven't cracked the roll, im going to keep it all protected and nice, and then let my kids sell 'em after I die image

ok, this first strike thing is a myth. Once they change the die, the next batch with the new die are also "first strikes" too, or am I mistaken ? Certainly a die only has so much life, so when it wears out, the inspector tells the die setter , the die setter changes the die and voila, NEW strikes, dumping into a "coin box" .... um what am I missing here ? Do the dates on boxes really matter ?

They are shelved and the last box out might be the one with the earliest strike. Who really knows ?

I order mine late, thinking I'll get the first one made image
