Roosevelt Dimes can be pretty. Is this one ?

While you are looking put a grade on it. The coin has real nice luster coming through the deep thick tone. No slide marks period.

I don't like it, but the reverse likely is nice; I'm guessing the gold tone is more striking in person. 65 or 66. Can't judge the torch from that photo.

    Who ME !!!!

Lucy it is Nice. My darn photos wash out the color. Instead of the gold look that the reverse has it Orange with Deep Purple at the rims. It would be completely Killer if the colors were more evenly distributed. The verticle torch lines are somewhat weak. The obverse is Deep Purple with some blue. Again the tone is a little too splotchy and would look better if it was more even.

I think the coin is one of those Love or Hate situations. It deserves a shot at PCGS one of these days just because it is so original.

It can be tough, and I suck at coin photography as it is. I posted my '55-P here last week and I don't think the pictures I took do it justice. I wish I knew how to get the lighting right to get the color to pop like it should, but as I said, I suck.

Not my cup of tea. Speaking of which, maybe it was soaking in a cup of tea to get that color....

It looks like the bands are full in the image. If you send it in, let us know if it makes FB.

    I'll go 65fb.

I have several early Roosies that are nicely toned like yours. If anyone is interested in these I will be glad to give them up. Im not into toned coins.

Not crazy about this one Ken, Too splocthy for me. Grade wise I'm not sure 65 or 66. Maybe bands or not. Who cares on bands. It's the overall strike that counts. I won't pay for the bands unless they are free.

Looks FB. The luster will determine the grade on this one. I like it.

I don't think PCGS would give it FB based on the picture....PC is being really tough on bands. NGC might give it FT though......
