Poll--So who reads the Gold/Silver News thread??

StorkStork Posts: 5,206 ✭✭✭✭✭
A question posed in the thread.

<< <i>Although we only have a few dozen regular posters it would be interesting to know how many folks on the Forum read this thread each week? >>

I for one rarely post, but am subscribed to it and read it regularly. I very much enjoy the discussions and links.

Who else reads it?

That is the mother of all PM threads, and much more. It's a must-read, or a primer for those who want to learn all there is to know about the economy.

You can lead a forumite to a thread, but you can't force him to digest the contents!!

To those who think the thread is about PM's, they've missed the big picture. That's only a small part of it. The topics discussed there help to understand the drive behind the coin market, and possibly give some direction as to where it is headed. But as long as you are a "true" collector, it should be of no concern to you...and clearly a waste of one's time.

  • It should be in the open forum because it really doesnt have anything to do with coin collecting, IMO.

    Some knowledgable folks make regular

comments on this thread. Reading them

gives you a feel for the pulse of the economic

and bussiness cycle. While economics of a Nation

is too complex for an easy or clear cut view, this thread

is a well balance cross section of opinion.

  • I read the thread with every new post. I like to hear the views of fellow forum members. As stated above, there may be something they hear and like to share about current events which will encourage me to look for news regarding an issue. I am a firm believer in the economy, or lack there of, and this is a good thread to read and provide input. I enjoy collecting coins as well as bullion which is also mentioned in the thread. Covers the spectrum. Keep it up guys !

I believe the Open Forum is absolutely the wrong place for that thread, and can't imagine that people would like to see it there. With few exceptions, the Open Forum is one empty, useless cesspool of a forum, and anything useful gets buried within minutes. Have any of the people advocating moving this thread there actually spent any time over there?? I doubt it.

This forum is the proper place for that thread.

  • That thread is simply too darn big for me to open - and I have cable. That makes it impossible for me to enjoy it.

I don't understand. Regardless of how long a thread is, when you click on it, only one page opens at a time, so it shouldn't take any longer to load one page of that thread than it would take to load a page of any other thread.
