Is the 1978-D IKE a tough coin in higher grades?

I thought I remember seeing an article about 78-D being a tough one.

But not sure I remember correctly.

I picked up a 78 mint set with a Denver IKE that is so silky that I can't believe it.

Just wondering if this is anything special!

    They come pretty nice.

The luster, especially, can be fantastic and strikes are among the best in the series.

The problem with this date is marking. While they can be found clean they are few and far between. This
is probably the gemmiest of the mint set coins though true gems still account for less than about 1% of the
    original mintage.

A nice clean 78-D is a special coin. In 66 worth around $300. If you make a 67, call me and it'll be worth many many mulitples of the above mentioned number.
