Removing a FUGLY tarnish spot from a KENNEDY PROOF

I have a very nice 1970 s kennedy proof that has been in a 2x2 since the day i bought in 1970.
There is a pin hole in the 2x2. Now it has purple/blue tarnish spot about 1/8" in diameter on the reverse close to the edge.
My thinking is to shoot/blast the area with EZEST, 50/50 diluted with distiled water, using a hypo needle.
Then rinse well in 90% alcahol. (NOT MY SCOTCH).
Will this work well??
Is there a better way?
