1875-S Twenty Cent Mint Marks ** CLOSE UPS **

These shots are all of the same mint mark. They are taken at varying angles through a macro lense and a loupe. They are all then rotated and cropped to approximately the same area and size, but the loupe certainly distorted some.

So I think this is the S over S variety, but am no expert.

    If I didn't have laser surgery for my eyes, that would be a single S.

    But since I did have it......S/S for sure!

    Although I have two of them, I'm not sure about this one. The ones I have the two mintmarks are rotated not simply one higher than the other (therefore they look like a $ because the serifs of one S become the line top and bottom to appear as a dollar sign).

    This is not to say that there aren't more than one RPM for that series.
