Question about PCGS turnaround time

I received an email from PCGS at about 5PM EST on February 6, 2006 thanking me for my coin grading submission. It was a regular, $30, 15 day turnaround invoice.

I have yet to receive email notice that the grading has been completed.

What would be the latest date until these coins could be graded and fall within the guaranteed turnaround time ( please provide a specific date )?

I understand it is 15 business days, but when does the clock begin and end relative to the initial PCGS acknowledgement email notice and are PCGS designated "Black Out" dates excluded from the count?

Thanks, in advance, for any help.

Richard

  • You have now stepped into the twilight zone. Where time & reality no longer exist.

The clock begins when they say it does and all blackout dates still apply.

Be patient and just hope you don't get a BB.

To me, it looks like March 7 your submission should be ready. There was a show Feb 8-10 with blackout dates. Then this week they have an invitational and are our Tuesday through Thursday.

    Feb 7 - Day one
    Feb13-17 - Days 2-6
    Feb 20-24 - Days 7-11
    Feb 27 - Day 12
    Mar 3 - Day 13
    Mar 6 - Day 14
    Mar 7 - Day 15

This all changes, however, if they were freebies or if you went with the photo service. Then all bets are off.

PCGS is really teaching you patience and building character, this is clearly spelled out in the fine print of your submission form. Also by making you wait it builds anticipation for the return of your coins so when you get your disappointing grades you are just happy to get your coins back and to not have your capital further tied up. When you think about the diabolical madness and sheer genius of this system it should leave you awed and amazed! Good luck in your quest my friend... SoCalBigMark image

I've decided I like express. I just had one logged in the 22nd and completed the 24th.

    Submission numbers for the page?
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!
