1886 Type 2 NGC MS66BN Cent Price Rising Exponentially...
This is interesting...
Found the auction on eBay with a PCGS price of $30k listed. I figured that was ridiculous, so I went to Heritage... the only results for the grade are the same coin...
Four Days Left, Pushing $2500
2/21/06, $920
9/21/05 $690
1/28/04 $1875... ok, so this guy took a hit allowing the coin to rise back up
What I want to know is where the seller found a prices realized of $32k...

He writes: "Price realized = $32,000.00 NGC MS-66BN" which is higher than the PCGS price... my mistake on saying $30k.

<< <i>Yeah, just saw that. I sent him an eMail asking for a link to the auction.

It's a cut and paste job from this page.
A PROOF 66 red sold for $52,000 and then resold a year later for $30,000

So, the seller lied to me with this response?
<< <i>I dont have a link. I found a Christies auction from 2001, out of Savannah, Ga. by digging deep in about.com. According to the article the population was 0/0 with 1 NGC 66BN at that time. The auction price realized was $31,900.
Thank You For Looking,

I'm shocked.

Hmmm... their auction archives don't have Georgia...
You got me - I was thinking of the MS66R at the Gugelman sale but it brought only 48K - that's the coin I was thinking of.
What is it about that town?
