What's up with this dealer?

Check out this dealer's store. 2-3x SMR for modern PSA 10's. But who wouldn't pay $225 for a Frank Thomas 1990 Leaf PSA 10? $650 for a Griffey 1989 Topps Tiffany PSA 10. If that is what it will take for them to make a profit, they might want to look into reducing some overhead.

  • May not be making a profit on cards but has sold 9K in 57'/58' GAI graded cello packs in the last month.......

I should add that there are store owners who just park cards that they don't necassarily want to sell in their stores. It's 3 cents a month and if they happen to sell it at their asking price or get an offer they accept then it's all good, as far as they are concerned.

I like how they also charge shipping. If I ever got a price like that for a card I'd deliver it myself.

I have a problem with this kind of business model, since there can be no question that the overwhelming majority of people who buy this stuff are hobby newbies-- and nothing is going to turn someone off from collecting like being played like a sucker when they first get into it. It's the same issue I have with 707-- sure, it's LEGAL, but trying to get 5x the market price for a card offends the sensibilities.

well, if they buy the first thing they come across without doing any research and click on a "buy-it-now", they might be a sucker..

They all have make an offer.
BIN is to give an artifical price
But with best offers he can list high
and hope to get good offers

Not sure about the comparison with Levi (707) If you look carefully through his stuff gems can be found for a decent price.

A person can charge whatever they choose for an item. Anyone that buys w/o doin the slightest bit of homework should blame no one but themselves.

I just do not buy that theory.

Now if a person is selling a known trimmed or otherwise altered card for top dollar then I certaintly agree.
