Off Topic: Anyone know why I cant post to the forums from home?

About a week or 10 days ago, I stoped having the ability to post publically in the forums. Sometimes I can PM, but even that doesnt work most of the time. Carolj says there are no restrictions on my account.

It seems that somehow everything gets timed out.... after I get the "This Page Cannot Be displayed" standard IE error, I hit the back button and try to post again, then I get the error from the CU forums saying that "you cannot post a message twice". I tried searching for "FuseTalk" errors and problems on google, but that wasnt really helpful.

I have been on the forum since 2001, and this is the first time this has ever happened. I havent changed anything on my computer, and the CU forums page seems to be the only problem I am having. I can browse the internet and do just about anything else I was doing all along on the internet. The problem is definately isolated to the CU forums web page.

Any help is appreciated.

If not, your ISP may be having DNS problems.

sounds as though your computer is blocking this website. I'm not too smart in this, but if you go under tools there are tabs that can walk you through . I just wouldn't want to confuse you. image

Have you tried using the numerical IP address for this site instead of the usual word version?

Michelle, I've just replied to your PM. I suspect there's a DNS problem with your ISP. For the time being, you may have to use the IP address in the URL instead of the domain. I provided the example in the PM.

    Hope that helps.

  • I'm having a similar problem, but I can't log in from home. At work I'm logged in all the time even if I shut the computer off. Once I get home, though, and try to sign in I get a message that says I can't, and it's not the password. I'll have to see what that message is word for word. I've thought about "logging off" at work, but I'm a little concerned I won't be able to log back in. Anyone one else experience this? Any ideas?

If you guys think it is a DNS problem, what do you think of running:
    ipconfig /flushdns ??
PCGS Currency: HOF 2013, Best Low Ball Set 2009-2014, 2016, 2018. Appreciation Award 2015, Best Showcase 2018, Numerous others.
  • Even though I don't know what my problem is, it's not a DNS problem. Says I have to contact the administrator for some reason.
