walmart wax box

Just got back from walmart with my wife. This box caught my eye so I bought it. Anyone seen these boxes before? I am not into new baseball issues. Was this Wagner card found? If not I am going to pull it tonite. image

  • I've bought those packs before--never a box. I've gotten 60's and 70's cards in them, and a Barry Bonds traded rookie, but never anything truly rare. As far as I know, the Wagner and some Mantles are still out there.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

What a complete box of garbage! Only highlight was an 1984 topps Eddie Murray. JUNK!!!

Man, I could have got a psa 10 Emmitt for the $20.00 I wasted!

One less buyer i have to worry about tonight

j/k Matt. Sorry you got crap, i know the feeling

It's been hit or miss with me and Walmart/Target boxes

  • I wasted money on one pack of these cards and had the same assessment: crappy junk.

Hopefully you got at least a LITTLE thrill for your money, Matt. I would've had to put some KentuckY Jam in the wrapper to get anything close to the excitement they advertise on their box...image (I hope Mrs. lmm doesn't read this. I'll be real embarrassed!)

Oh, the one auto per box was Mike Darr. I never heard of the guy and now I know why.
If anyone wants the card, pm me your address you can have it.

  • Matt, Mike Darr is actually now deceased. He died in a car accident probably 6 or so years ago. He was a high prospect I think with the Padres. I met him a few times in A ball in Fayetteville, NC.

Thanks Chris, I actually found that out when I googled his name and posted a link right above the card photo. Sad story

  • Yeah, Darr looked like he was going to be starting in the outfield for the Padres when he died. Real shame there.
