How fast does the U.S. Mint make coins?

Anyone know how many coins the Mint can make per minute or hour, or day when they're really cranking?

that's about 80,000,000 coins per day. No doubt they can hit 100,000,000 without trying
too hard.
To hit these numbers they need to make a lot of pennys though.

Proof coins were shown getting two strikes per coin and the platinum coins three.
It was an amazing sight to see the rapid blur of coins that seemed to be flying out of these modern presses.

It you think it is amazing on TV, you really need to see it live. As fast as the planchets go into the press, it seems that they come out at twice the speed.

Yes I can only imagine that it must be really impressive ( no pun intended) to be there first hand!
It also made me think how far we have come compared to the hand made production of coins in the early Mint days when coins were hand fed one by one into a hand swung screw press. That boggles the mind also.
