Nah, I think it's a fluke with these, albeit one I saw coming, but a fluke nonetheless. The law that cut off sales last Dec. created the rarity, and so did the buying habits of folks and dealers before the law kicked in, who scoffed at buying them so they are very dispersed and hard to get. It's simply a rare coin cover supply and demand issue. This Ocean View Coin Cover seems to be climbing in price almost DAILY, so much so that I'm scared to sell mine because it may be terribly hard to buy one in the future, or at least without paying a fortune. I like the Westward Journey covers so I'm happy to have gotten some before they started going up. If the law that shut off sales holds, which from indications seems likely, then Ocean View Coin Covers could become true modern rarities in unopened form, and the sky's the limit for the price. This is definitely one to watch!
I think you should of waited until after March 28th when the Return to Monticello covers come out. Westward Journey coin covers collectors will want a complete set and the hard to get Ocean View will be the key. I've got 7 stashed away but I'm not sure when I'll sell anymore. They are very diffuse and hard to get because 99% of the folks who bought them were collectors, plus the low sales of 23k.

Do you think I sold too early or was it a mistake?
