Time to ,and how to sell all other "Heritage" products??

I have a bunch of 01, 04, and 05 heritage collecting dust (literally) in my closet. I usually buy all my heritage when the new product comes out. What would be the best way to sell these? Bunch up "lots" for the 01's and sell sp's / stars seprately? What about the 05 heritage? Just big lots and sp's seperated? Aren't ebay "auctions" not very cost effective to sell these singles?

I have always though of a cool auction...you make it a fixed priced auction and you list all of the sp's you have (all the 5.00 ones
say), you then make the auction for the winners choice of any 10..that way someone can fill holes fast. Im sure they would pay
a premium to finish the set!

Every year this thing trucks along, it picks up more collectors. This time of year people are ALWAYS looking for last years stuff..take advantage of
    that.

...and if you are into making a little profit, you can go the John Basilone route and make an 06 set early, sell it and then buy one cheaper
    later on.

This is indeed an awesome way to do an auction, and it's even good for the base cards as well as the SP's. Heck, it's a good way to auction any of your duplicates, even your 1973 Topps in VG/EX. It is an amazing way to help people complete sets. I've seen people list their PSA duplicates and do the same thing.

Unfortunately, if you're big on following ebay rules, this type of listing violates the ebay "Choice" auction policy. In 2001, I was running these types of auctions with my Heritage SPs, and I got a nasty "stop it" message from ebay.

I have since then tried to contact ebay to explain why these type of auctions not only do not violate the spirt of their Choice policy, but they mean more $$ for ebay, but to no avail. So you can run an auction that doesn't tell people what they're getting (grab bag), that's fine, but to clearly lay out that the winner can select "x of the following", that's not okay.

Plenty of folks run "choice" auctions for Heritage cards. If you have 01 SPs, sell them individually - they will get around 5 each. If you have 01 chromes, send them to me because nobody wants that trash anymore.

I just listed a "choice" auction for 05 Heritage base cards. It is a great deal for the guy trying to finish his set.

Thanks for the input guys, I am going to try and sift through this stuff. O mud, I might have a few 05 chromes for ya too.

I think most of us are good on 05 chromes, but never hurts to try the boards first. I'm only 2 or 3 cards shy of a chrome set, but I've been hoarding extras like an old lady hoards cats in the hopes that I can use them for some 06 goodies. The reason I brought up the 01 chromes is that they've been blowing upon ebay lately - $15 to $20 per common, sometimes more. THAT'S CRAZY
