Hi, all. I like this coin very much. I bought it at the little Burlington, VT show the year before last. What variety is it? Thanks in advance --

    Great coin! 1828 is one of those under rated dates imo (along with 1822)

    Your coin appears to be a better variety Browning-4, identified by the first star being distant from the drapery, and on the reverse, the F in OF too low.

    Browning calls is a scarce variety (R3) and notes that proofs were made from these dies.
